Saw: protected structure: the development will consist of the replacement of existing non historic perimeter security railings and gates at 6 ely place upper, dublin 2.52 st. Stephens green is a protected structure (ref no. 7785). Works will consist of: a) removal and replacement of the existing wall, painted steel railing, concrete plinth and gate at the entrance to this 1970s office building and car park. B) the new installation will feature 2.7m high by 14.85m wide black painted steel railings with an automatic sliding vehicular gate and automatic outward opening pedestrian gate. C) the new installation will provide enhanced security to the premises, providing impact resistance by way of a concrete upstand and steel structure to the rear of the railing and gate. D) part m-compliant pedestrian gate will be provided with minor regrading of the footpath directly outside the pedestrian gate. E) all access control systems and signage will be integrated into the new railing design. F) the railing will abut the neighbouring protected structure of 5 ely place while leaving a gap between the two structures. An appropriate assessment (aa) screening was undertaken for the proposed development. It concluded that there will be no likely significant effects on any natura 2000 sites, either alone or in combination with any other plans or projects. An environmental impact assessment (eia) preliminary examination was undertaken for the proposed development. It concluded that, based on a preliminary examination of all environmental receptors and criteria set out in schedule 7 of the planning and development regulations 2001 (as amended), an eiar is not recommended under the category of sub-threshold development. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to an coimisiún pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
