Net cost: €2,000–€8,500 for a typical 6–9 kW system. Conditional on a BER assessment after the work — the post-work BER must be in the eligible range. Eligibility: home must be built before 2011 for the full grant (existing dwellings). New builds may not qualify for the full grant; check the current scheme. The grant is paid after the work is complete and the BER is issued. SEAI also has a separate grant for solar PV (currently no grant for new build PV) and battery storage (varies year-on-year).
